Selma, Montgomery, and More

I began this morning unsure where the coming days would lead me and how they would change and inspire me. Here, under a bridge in Selma, Alabama I lost my voice when three women smiled to greet me. I smiled back, began to cry, apologized and told them that I'd just been humbled. I know now that I am here to strip away the veneer, to humble myself to a community that has always offered me LOVE. If life is about letting go, then this is where my newest phase begins. I cannot change the past, so I'm here to learn graces the heart has long hidden: humility, forgiveness, and selflesss compassion.
