As I Lay Dying Journal
Please find your journal template at : The Many Voices of AILD Whether you are using a digital or analog (composition book) format, you will need to do the following:
Track the characteristics of each character by what they reveal about themselves in their many monologues (you can do this by adding rows for the various monologue/section numbers ex.:
characterCharacteristics – What they reveal about themselves in their own monologues.Section and pg #Relationship to Addie or Bundren FamilyWhat other’s reveal about them in their monologues.Defining Symbols (what symbols or goals guide this character?)DarlHe is unhurried, hyperconscious, and connects to the world in concrete and abstract terms: he describes Jewel shortcut like Duchamps Nude Descending a staircase #2Darl 1, p4SonWater. We first see him drink spring water from a gourd by a willow, but WHY???(p4)2. As you encounter what others reveal about them, you will log those entries as well.
3. When you are finished, you should be able sort the digital table into a solid map of one character that will allow you to complete the two final character assignments in this folder.
4. Link to the two projects: AILD Final Projects
