Q3 Preparation and Reminders

Question 3 - Open Prose 

Remember that your essay must reflect on a theme from the work you write about and connect it to the Big Question in the Prompt if it is to score above a 4. 

Thus, I'd like you to review theme statements before your timed writing. The following links provide a quick tutorial to remind you of theme, examples, and a frame.

Assignment -Theme Drive Folder

1. Review the material in the theme tutorial file, 

2. then read the sample theme statements and feedback from the presentation

3. with these works as a guide (Ma Rainey, Streetcar, or Song of Solomon) please compose responses to 1982, 2004, and 2006 Prompts from the Question 3 Handout (only one work per prompt).

4. After you draft your responses using the template format, type your work on a google document and share it with your class drive folder (label the doc with you name + Q3) 

5. Due Friday (B) and Monday (A) (3rd period should do this tonight).
