Fences by August Wilson

Please read Act One of Fences (pp1594-1628) or at this link http://web.mit.edu/wpick/output.pdf  on 04/06/15 and answer the following questions:
1. Describe the condition of the marriage of Rose and Troy at the beginning of the play. What are their habits? How well meshed are they? What about their marriage has made Troy discontented?
2.What are Troy's relationships to the other characters - Bono, Lyons, Gabriel? Show how these are compounded of both conflict and congruence of feelings.
3. Define the conflicts between Cory and Troy, showing how they develop. In what ways do they resemble those between Troy and his Father? What does Troy want to protect Cory from, and what direction does he want him to take? What unspoken dangers does Cory face as a Marine in 1965?
